Give Your Mother The Best Day Ever

Posted on: 3 April 2015

It's really hard to believe that Christmas happened just a few short months ago and that it's now time to plan for Mother's Day. If you want to honor your mother in an extra special way this year, here are some considerations.

A Beautiful Beginning

Turn off the alarm clock and let Mom sleep in! At a reasonable time, let her awaken to a medley of her favorite songs playing softly in the bedroom. Breakfast in bed might seem trite, but you can make it exceptional, and it doesn't have to be hard to do that. Consider what you might get at a European hotel and serve her favorite beverage along with croissants and real butter, chocolate dipped strawberries, and end with a cup of rich hot chocolate.

The Perfect Outing

At breakfast, give your mother a collection of presents in a lovely basket. Include things like her favorite decadent candies, a beautiful candle, and a CD of music from when she was a teenager. Make her feel young at heart! The frosting-on-the-cake part of the gift will be a trip to a massage parlor. Here are some things your mother can expect when she goes for her massage.

  • She will be cordially greeted by name and will be asked to fill out a form telling about herself and any medical information the massage therapist should know. Then she will be escorted to a quiet room where she will be given privacy and time to relax before the massage therapist returns.
  • There will be soft music playing that will be conducive to total relaxation. There will probably be scented candles that will add to the mood. Lavender is a favorite scent for this type of setting.
  • The massage therapist will encourage your mother to let her know if her technique is too strong, or too light. Then she will begin to work her magic!
  • Massage therapists are beautifully trained to be able to feel where the muscles are extra tense. More attention will be given to these areas of the body, usually especially in the neck, shoulders, and back. However, even fingers and toes will be massaged, and so will the head and face.
  • When you make the appointment for your mother's massage, be sure to include a tip in your payment, and let your mother know you have already taken care of that.
